Columbia Greene Amateur Golf Championship 2018

36 holes of individual medal play to determine the best golfers in Columbia and Greene County. Lunch is included each day.

Saturday • September 29th at 1:00pm • Copake Country Club and The Greens Restaurant

100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit golf in Columbia / Greene / Northern Dutchess Counties through the Playground Golf Foundation 501(c)3).

FLIGHTS

• Championship (0-6 Handicap)
• 1st Flight (7-12 Handicap)
• 2nd Flight (12-19 Handicap)
• Max (20 -36 Handicap)

RULES OF COMPETITION:

• 2 rounds of Stroke Play determine the Champion. If needed, a playoff, (under stroke play rules), will commence immediately, on Hole #1.
• The “One Ball” Rule is in effect.
• United States Golf Association – USGA rules, as modified by Local rules apply: in addition;
• If inclement weather: (1) If your ball is in the fairway: play “lift, clean and place” AFTER notifying a fellow competitor within one scorecard length. (2} If your ball is “off the fairway”, AND has mud attached, it is “lift, clean and DROP”, AFTER notification.
• Please exchange score cards, & turn in the SIGNED cards at the end of the round. AND, please remember to “protect the field” at all times.
• Any “No Card”, walking off the course, or not appearing for Monday’s competition may disqualify the contestant for the next year’s tournament.
• There will be a complimentary lunch each day prior to the round and an Awards Dinner available to all contestants after the completion of play on Saturday.
• If in doubt about a rule situation, play two balls and ask when you finish

The Playground Golf Foundation’s mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. These programs will benefit all children in Columbia, Greene and Northern Dutchess County schools, including those that are underprivileged, have a physical or mental challenge, or are terminally ill. This introduction will impact the lives of children by providing equipment, transportation, scholarships and professional golf instruction delivered by trained PGA and The First Tee coaches. These coaches will work hand in hand with host schools’ physical educators, during gym class. These in class activities along with after school programs will bridge the gap between golf and life, engage children to play this lifelong sport, and teach children these 9 core values:
